"A section of Newtown Road which needed to be resurfaced was found to have tar bound material below 85mm. It was going to cost over £100 per tonne for disposal, so this wasn’t a viable option for us.
Worcestershire Highways worked closely with the Environment Agency, Ringways Technical Centre and Coldcarr Recycling, to devise a recycling solution which encapsulated the existing tar bound material and graded it down to a 20mm product on-site. This was then mixed and reinstated into the foambase.
